Boxerbook in Cursor
Once Cursor knows the Boxerbook endpoint, it can look up fight cards and their broadcasters, fresh results, boxers' records, upcoming fights and the division rankings while it answers you. There is nothing to sign up for and no key to manage.
Endpoint (Streamable HTTP, keyless)https://mcp.boxerbook.com/mcpSteps
- Go to Cursor Settings → MCP and press Add new MCP server. That opens
~/.cursor/mcp.json, which applies everywhere; a.cursor/mcp.jsoninside a repository applies to that repository only. - Paste the Boxerbook entry:
{ "mcpServers": { "boxerbook": { "url": "https://mcp.boxerbook.com/mcp" } } } - Save the file. When Cursor has fetched the tool list, the Boxerbook row in the MCP settings turns green.
Test question
Try “Use Boxerbook: what is the record of the current WBC heavyweight champion?”. If the setup worked, Cursor runs rankings, and its reply links to the Boxerbook pages behind each fact.
The tool output also includes as_of, the moment the data was read, and a url for the citation.
If something goes wrong
Boxerbook has a red status
Usually a JSON typo such as a trailing comma, or a network that blocks mcp.boxerbook.com. Fix the file, then run Developer: Reload Window.
The agent answers without the tools
Use Agent mode and say “use Boxerbook” in the request.
Covered topics
Upcoming cards with broadcasters, finished bouts with sources, boxer profiles, next opponents, individual bouts with forecast and betting consensus, rankings, plus search and fetch for ChatGPT. Details are on the tool pages; sample prompts are in the question list.
